I will be offering ELE 594 Physiological Modeling and Control in the fall. The course will be held on T TR 9:30am to 10:45am. I intend to change it from the previous offering and go over more modeling techniques rather than the controls. We will cover more physiological models than in the past. We will also use neuronal modeling applications (such as Neurocal and Neuron) as well as a finite modeling application (possibly Multiphysics) to create geometries and couple them to the neurons. I will also adjust the material to what the students interests are for their research. I encourage both graduates and undergrads to take it. ELE 400 and 601/602 are required courses for BS or MS/PhD degrees, respectively. If you need one of these courses to graduate on or before August 2010, please register to take the course this fall. It is actually preferable to take these courses early in the academic year, because ELE 400 helps undergraduate students prepare for job search or graduate school application process whereas ELE 601 helps introduce students to potential research areas. Traditionally, these 1 credit courses have been offered in both Fall and Spring semesters.
