This is not allowed! Please fill out a time sheet and keep track of your daily hours. What I recommend is entering in your hours at the end of each week (Fridays after 4:00 p.m.). If you think you will forget, then enter in your hours at the end of each day. Whatever works best for you. Then on every other Monday, I will go into the system and approve your hours if correct. Also, we have been processing numerous correction forms as well. Please remember, this only makes more work for you, me and the Payroll Office. It's very crucial that you get your hours in on time. If you have any questions, please feel free to see me. Thank you for your help and cooperation. Meredith Meredith A. The New England Healthcare Engineers? Society (NEHES) was founded in 1958 as a professional society for individuals responsible for the environment of care in the delivery of patient care. The goals of the society are as follows: o To promote better patient care by taking advantage of the latest developments in healthcare facility management, design, operation and maintenance techniques. o To promote mutual exchanges of technical assistance, ideas, and experience among members and other healthcare engineering professionals. o To promote the professional engineers through continuing education. For more information about NEHES, please visit http://nehes.org/. A number of years ago the Society decided that to help fulfill its goals, a scholarship program would be established to encourage college students in degree programs that may lead to a career in the design, engineering, or management of Healthcare Facilities. These degree programs include engineering, architecture, bio-medical engineering and facility management. The scholarships are awarded annually to students from the New England state which hosts the society?s annual conference. This year that conference will take place in September in Warwick, RI at the Crown Plaza Hotel. The scholarships will be awarded the evening of Tuesday, September 29, at our Annual Banquet. There are two $2000 scholarships to be awarded. All that is necessary for a student to apply is a brief letter from the student and a second letter of recommendation from either their student advisor or program chairperson. The student?s letter should briefly (1 to 2 pages maximum) include some basic relevant personal background information along with their current educational and career goals. The letter of recommendation should attest to the student?s character, integrity, and demonstrated desire to achieve their career goals. Address both letters to me at the address above Please contact me if you have any questions. Our goal would be to receive all applications by August 31, 2009. Successful candidates will be notified by mid-September, and are expected to attend the banquet to receive their scholarship. Society has been rotated among the 6 New England states. In 2003 it was held in Newport, RI. They usually give scholarships to undergraduate students in the local colleges and has a nice award ceremony at the annual meeting. In 2003 two of our BME students, Ellaine Abueg and John DiCecco received this award. The top 8 BME juniors based on GPA are listed below (according to a list from Faye): Dunne, Andrew, 3.94 Alberg, Timothy, 3.84 Ausfresser, Gabriel, 3.67 Rafferty, Kyle, 3.59 Dulude, Courtney, 3.49 Ruggieri, Tonya, 3.37 Dumas, Amber, 3.30 Gab Ausfresser and Tonya Ruggiere were working in our BME lab last month. Both did an outstanding job. They developed an environment control system for a person with visual impairment. The system was successfully installed in the individual's home in Newport last month. I could certainly write something to support their nomination. Tim Alberg is doing a summer internship in Dr. Jacqueline Webb's lab studying cichlid fishes with MRI and CT imaging. Please share any information about the BME junior listed above or other junior/senior students. Thanks. Best regards, Ying Quoting "G.
